This release introduces bug fixes and new features for customers on SmartVault on all subscription plan types:
Changes to SmartVault:
You can create vaults under containers, except in Client containers
For SmartVault Tax Plan users, you can now manually create vaults under any containers with the exception of your tax client containers. This functionality is present in the Portal as well as the Inbox.
The Activity Log now archives data older than 90 days
The Activity Log now archives activity log entries that are more than 90 days old to offline storage. You can contact support if you need to access any log entries older than 90 days.
The SmartVault Updater now checks nightly for any updates
The SmartVault Updater will now automatically check for updates between 2 a.m. and 4 a.m. nightly, in addition to checking for updates when SmartVault starts running.
You can create engagements from Connected Desktop for TY 2015
Previously, the Connected Desktop allowed for creating engagements only for years up to 2014. The Connected Desktop now allows you to create engagements for 2015.
In the Connected Desktop, you can sort the Client ID and Name columns in ascending or descending order
In the Client List section of the Connected Desktop, clicking on the Client ID column header or on the Name header will sort your Client List alternating between ascending or descending order.
Canon Capture OnTouch integration now supports additional Canon scanners with less setup
SmartVault integrates with Canon OnTouch scanner models P-208II and P-215II with included scanning profiles for SmartVault and doesn’t require you to manually create profiles or jobs for SmartVault.
The QuickBooks Reporting tool now integrates into the SmartVault Desktop and can generate CSV output
For customers that use the SmartVault toolbar to attach documents to Quickbooks for Windows, the QuickBooks Reporting tool is available from the SmartVault Desktop software. With the QuickBooks Reporting tool, you can run reports about your attached documents, including reporting on which transactions in QuickBooks do not have attached documents in SmartVault. You can choose to receive the report in a text file or a CSV file.
New icons in the Dashboard of the Portal
SmartVault is underway on some usability improvements that will make SmartVault easier to navigate and use. These enhancements will be introduced in phases throughout this next year and are largely based on customer input. In this first phase of user enhancements, we’ve updated the icons in the Dashboard and throughout the SmartVault Portal to make them easier to identify and more intuitive to our users.
New interface for viewing Client Engagements in the Portal
We’ve updated aspects of the user interface for the Client Engagements section in the Portal to improve performance and usability. You can now filter engagements based on the type of client, type of engagement, and the year of the engagement. You can also select several columns to view information about the engagement that present data about the client type, type of engagement, name of the client, year of the engagement, and a link to the documents associated with the engagement.
The Portal no longer displays statistical columns
When selecting an account in the SmartVault Portal, the middle pane no longer has columns for Inbox and Note statistics.
