Customize Personal Settings

Overview

In this article, we'll show you how to customize your personal settings for the following items:

  • Specify your time zone
  • Verify your Contact Info
  • Change your Password
  • Customize Alerts for Upload/Download Notifications. 

Specify Your Time Zone

By default, SmartVault Desktop software components such as the Drive, the Toolbar, and the Inbox use the time zone specified for your local computer.
 

However, the SmartVault Portal uses (GMT-06:00) Central Time (US & Canada) as the default time zone setting. Specify your time zone in the Portal so that when you create and modify documents, the dates and times display consistently with your local time.

Steps

  1. Sign in to the SmartVault client portal.
  2. Click My Info.


     
  3. In the Time Zone: field, click the drop down box to select your time zone from the list.
     
  4. Click Save Changes to finalize the time zone change.


Verify Your Contact Info

Follow the steps to change any information stored in your user profile. For the steps to change your email address, click here.

Steps

  1. Sign in to the SmartVault client portal.
  2. Click My Info.


     
  3. Change your information as needed. There are additional steps to take if changing your email address.


     
  4. Click Save Changes to finalize your changes.


Change Your Password


Steps

  1. Sign in to the Client Portal.
  2. Click on My Info on the top right of the page.

  3. Click Change Password.


     
  4. Enter new password.
  5. Re-Enter the same password for confirmation.
  6. Click Save Changes.

Customize Alerts for Upload/Download Notifications

For vaults or folders that you choose to monitor with upload or download email notifications, you can select how frequently you receive email notifications.

Important note  
  • Every new licensee (regardless of type; i.e. - User, Client, or Guest) has their upload and download notification settings set to "Once a day (9:00 a.m.)" by default.
  • Each licensee controls how frequently they will receive upload or download notifications.

Portal View

  1. Sign in to the Client Portal.
     
  2. Click on My Info on the top right of the page.

  3. Select Notification Settings under User settings.


     
  4. Under Upload Email Notifications or Download Email Notifications select the time frame or frequency you want to receive notifications and click Save Changes to confirm your change.
