The Guest and Tax Client Layout of the SmartVault Client Portal

Though you might receive different access than other Guests, on signing in, you'll see a similar page regardless of your access level. Review the following to learn about the layout of the Client Portal.

  1. The path - as you navigate through vaults and folders, this path changes to track where you're located. You can click each item to navigate to that vault or folder.
  2. Content organizer - this is the main window where you'll navigate through vaults and folders to reach the files you want. This pane displays the content within each vault or folder you have access to, and this pane contains a search bar, the vaults, folders, or files in an account, and the actions you can perform on those vaults, folders, and files.
  3. Name column - this column displays the name of the vault, folder, or file contained where you are currently located in an account. Click on a listing in this column to enter a vault or folder or to open a file.
  4. Action column - this column displays the different actions you can perform on a vault, folder, or file in an account. These actions will vary greatly depending on your level of access and the abilities the account owner grants you.
  5. Sidebar - the sidebar contains a section for tasks, help, and downloads. You will use the the tasks most often—these will change depending on if you are viewing the account, a vault, a folder, or a file and will be labeled Account Tasks, Vault Tasks, Folder Tasks, or File Tasks. Under the task section, you'll find actions you can perform on a vault, folder, or file. These actions will vary greatly depending on your level of access and the abilities the account owner grants you.
  6. Main menu - this menu allows you to return to the home page of the account, change your personal information, find help articles, or sign out of the Client Portal.
