Force Outlook to always enable the SmartVault Plugin

In order to optimize speed, Outlook may automatically disable the SmartVault plugin in order to improve its startup performance. After which, Outlook will not attempt to reload it unless the registry key is fixed or the Add-in is completely re-installed. 





If Outlook keeps deactivating an add-in, first of all try to uninstall & reinstall the SmartVault Plugin. If it doesn’t solve the issue and the add-in is still being displayed as inactive, please follow these steps to activate the add-in:


  1. Open your Windows registry (run regedit.exe) and locate the following registry entries:
  2. Double click on LoadBehavior and change the value to 3.  This will set it to always enable.
  3. Open Outlook. The add-in should now load automatically at startup.



Using Registry Editor incorrectly can cause system-wide problems that may require you to re-install Windows to correct them. Ensure you make a back up of your registry before attempting any changes. Do not edit the Windows registry unless you are confident about doing so.
