Sending Files from Connected Desktop Using Tools Provided by Your Computer

Overview

Sending files using the tools available on your computer will vary greatly according to what you have installed on your computer. This tutorial covers a few of the more common choices available on most computers.

Using the Compressed (Zipped) Folder Option

The Compress (zipped) Folder option allows you to create a new compressed folder that contains the file. Compressing the file shrinks the size of the file and is useful when sending a very large file.

Steps

  1. Locate the file you want to compress in Connected Desktop.
  2. Right click on the file and hover on the Send to option to expand the menu.
  3. If you are able to compress a file, you can select Compressed (zipped) folder under the line.

  4. Connected Desktop generates a new compressed folder that contains this file in the same folder as the original file.

  2. Right click on the file and hover on the Send to option to expand the menu.
  3. If you are able to send the file to your Documents folder, you click the Documents selection.
  4. The file is automatically downloaded to your Documents folder.
