Map the SmartVault Drive on a Mac

One way to use SmartVault with a Mac is to map a drive using Finder. With a mapped drive, you can drag and drop or cut/copy and paste files and folders. It’s a great way to migrate existing data to your SmartVault.

  1. Launch Finder.
  2. Click Go in the top menu bar and select Connect to Server from the drop-down menu.
  3. Enter the following information below:
    Server or URL:
User Name: Your Smartvault email address
    Password: Your Smartvault password

  • You must have have a User or a Client license to use the SmartVault Drive feature.  Guest licenses do not have access.
  • The WebDAV client that is used to map the SmartVault drive on a MAC O/S is extremely slow and chatty. However, if you have to use it in a minimal way, you can map the SmartVault drive.
  • You can also search for alternative WebDAV clients that may provide better performance than the native WebDAV client that comes installed in OS X / macOS. For example, Transmit or Mountain Duck.
